19 of Daniil Medvedev's 21 victories have been earned on hard surfaces
A resurgent Medvedev secured his first title for over two years with a win over Frenchman Moutet in the tournament championship match.
The Russian, a ex- number one, has experienced a difficult season, achieving just a single victory at the Grand Slams and suffering a meltdown at the American major.
Medvedev's unpredictability on the professional circuit - and issues with his serve in especial - caused him dropping out of the world's top 10 and eventually separating with long-time trainer Gilles Cervara.
Presently training with Johansson and Goetzke, he has steadily advanced in the last few weeks - peaking in a tightly fought competitive victory over opponent Moutet.
This represents his maiden title after the Rome competition and initial on a hard court since spring of that year.
The win also indicates Medvedev has achieved 21 titles at twenty-one various competitions.
"This marks the first occasion I'm at a tournament with my children together, so to secure a championship is particularly special," commented tennis professional Medvedev.
"This title is in tribute of my younger daughter her name, because the initial championship I got when my older daughter my daughter was delivered was for her."
The tennis star, the 2021 US Open champion, had failed in his last six championship matches, comprising in that event earlier this year.
The player's retrieving strategy and regular outbursts on court had caused observers to doubt if his ability to compete at the elite level was finished.
However the 29-year-old has made changes in recent weeks, striving to approach the net and perform positively, reinforced by an improved serving game.
The champion fought back from a break down in the initial set against the challenging Moutet, taking four of the last five points to take the lead.
Both players exchanged breaks in the following set before the Frenchman, attempting for his first ATP Tour title, gained dominance to push for a decider.
He defended 4 early opportunities in a competitive final set before Medvedev broke to that score to close out the victory.
Appropriately, Medvedev clinched victory with a rally at the net area, with his opponent unable to manage a volley after a lengthy match.
